
Solid Hardwood
Generally, solid hardwood is 3/4" thick and comes in a variety of widths ranging from 2 and 1/4" up to 12". The most common width is 3 and 1/4" however, the trend is moving away from the narrow widths into wider "plank" style widths (4" and up). The average 3/4" hardwood has a 5/16" top layer that can be sanded up to seven times.
