Engineered Hardwood

Engineered hardwood is composed of numerous layers of plywood with a top layer of hardwood. The thickness of both the base and the top layer depends on the application and the manufacturer. Base layers of engineered hardwood are made of different types of wood, the most stable, and thus most sought after, is Baltic Birch. Engineered hardwood is much more stable than solid hardwood and unlike solid hardwood; engineered hardwood can be installed below grade and in most cases, over radiant heat.
