Crack suppression or isolation membranes are designed to be installed underneath tile or natural stone to prevent or decrease the chance of having a moving substrate crack a tile. These membranes are a must when placing tile outdoors as our Canadian winters can have devastating effects on our exterior floor coverings. There are many different types of crack suppression membranes; ranging from roll on liquid membranes to pre-formed poly wafer style membranes.
